68 Republic Day India

Thursday Jan 26 2017 India celebrates its 68 Republic day. Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India. The Indian constitution came into effect in 1950 and this was  matter of great pride for every Indian. The constitution laid down the rules to govern the entire nation, these rules were complied and made by free India.

History behind the Republic day

India was ruled by British for almost 100 years and after lot of struggle and non violence movement India earned its freedom from the British in the year 1947. Hence India celebrates 15 August 1947 as the freedom day. After getting Independence in the year 1947 on 15 August Indian government reformed and made new laws and structures and amendments and formed the constitution of Independent India. These laws currently govern over a billion people in India and the best part is that Indian citizens have lot of trust, faith in the constitution of India and abide every law in the same.

Republic day parade

Every year a big parade is held at the Rasphtrapati Bhavan in New delhi for the republic day and lots of Indian citizens are welcome to watch the parade. Most channels also stream the pride live where all aspect of India are on display. Right from Military strength to multi cultural religions which co exist in India. Every year Padma Bushan awards are also given to deserving citizens in various categories to all deserving citizens of India.
